James William Duke, age 77 of Sanford, died Thursday (3/30/2017) at his home. He was born in Harnett County, son of the late William Allen Duke and Eula Rollins Duke. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Monday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving is his wife Edna Coore Duke of Sanford, NC. Daughter Shelia Norris of Cameron, NC and son James William Allen Duke Jr. of Sanford. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
