James Floyd "Tommy" Thomas Jr. age 69 of Sanford, died Saturday (1/9/2016) at the VA Hospital in Durham. He was born in Lee County, son of Dorothy Patterson Thomas and the late James Floyd Thomas Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, and daughter Kimberly Renee Thomas. He was a graduate of Broadway High School, was a member of the Moore Union Christian Church, was the retired owner of M & T Electrical Company and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 11am Tuesday at the Broadway Town Cemetery with Rev. David Yarborough and Peyton Holland officiating. Surviving are his mother Dorothy Patterson Thomas of Broadway, NC; Wife Judy Dellinger Thomas of the home; Son Anthony "Andy" Holland and wife Cindy of New Hill, NC; Sister Susan Thomas and husband David of Broadway, NC; Brothers Ronnie Thomas and wife Kay of Broadway, NC and Steve Thomas of Broadway, NC. Grandchildren Cathy Pica and husband Daniel of Pittsboro, NC, Britney Johnson and husband Tyler of Siler City, NC ; Four great grandchildren Miles Pica, Cameron Pica, Hadley Johnson and Taylor Johnson and beloved pet, Quincy. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
