James Bogan Mize

James Bogan Mize, age 82, of Broadway passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024, at First Health Hospice House. He was born in Lee County on August 10, 1941, son of the late Arnold Mize and Margaret Bogan Mize. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Mize, sisters-in-law Paulette Mize and Joyce Mize.  Spending time with his son, granddaughter and great-grandchildren was among his favorite things to do. He was an avid golfer and was never far from his clubs. He treasured spending time with his golfing buddies. He loved to travel the world with his wife. Surviving is his wife, Malynda Sloan Mize of the home. Stepson, Kevin L. McNeill of Rison, Arkansas. Sister, Pat Baxley of Raeford, NC. Brothers, Larry Mize of Emerald Isle, NC and Donnie Mize (Mary Lou) of Broadway. Step- Granddaughter, Amanda Mikosh (Josh).    Step-Great-Grandchildren Charleigh Lewis, Easton Lewis and Lane Mikosh.   A memorial service will be on August 31, 2024 at 5:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway.   Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home, Broadway Inc.
