James Richard "Ricky" Manning, age 62 of Sanford, passed away on Monday (1/5/2026) at his home.  He was born in Lee County, son of the late Joseph Manning and Joyce Raper Manning.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Ricky was a member of Juniper Springs Baptist Church and loved to repair things.  He spent many hours piddling in his shop, working on cars, motorcycles and any type of machinery that needed repairing.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gibbs Manning of the home, son, Kolby Manning of Raleigh, NC; his sister, Karen Manning Owen of Pisgah Forrest, NC, and brother, William "Billy" Manning of Greensburg, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at Juniper Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, January 10, 2026 with Rev. Eddie Thomas officiating.
