James William "Tinker" Duke Jr. age 56 of Sanford, died Tuesday (9/22/2020) at UNC Rex Hospital.  He was born in Lee County, son of the late James William Duke and Edna Mae Coore Duke.  James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sheila Duke Norris and step-grandchild, Dylan Morrison.   He loved to ride, taking trips to the beach and to the casinos at Cherokee.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday at the Juniper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.  Surviving is his wife, Cindy Duke of the home.  Step-children, Cynthia Lynn McNeill of Lillington, Bobby McNeill and wife Karen of Sanford, NC and Christopher Lee McNeill of Sanford.  Step-grandchildren Kasey McNeill, Karly McNeill, Ricky Morrison, Shane Morrison, Chaselynn Morrison, DJ Morrison, Preston McNeill, Cody McNeill, and Christian McNeill. Nephews Jerry Lee Norris, Johnny Norris, Michael Norris and Kevin Norris.  Aunt, Mary Poppa and Uncles, Norman Coore and wife Teresa and James Coore and wife Ruth.    Friends and family may visit the Smith Funeral Home on Friday from 1pm-5pm to sign the register and pay their respects; and other times at the home of Bobby and Karen McNeill on Friday from 6-8pm.  The family request that you wear mask when visiting the funeral home and family home.   Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
