Jerome Elton Medlin, age 65 of Sanford, passed away on Thursday (10/10/2019) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  He was born in Lee County, son of the late Jerome Maryland Medlin and Minnie Caron Cocker Medlin.  He was preceded in death by his mom Jane Bunnell Arnold Medlin, Siblings,  Lila Sue Simms and Janie Rae Hall.  Daughter,  Carol Ann Hinson, granddaughters Dana Maria Shorb and Ashley McFarland, great great grandson Aiden Smith.  The family will hold a celebration of life service on Monday (10/14/2019) from 1-3pm at the home of Phillip and Sandra McFarland.  Surviving is his wife Vernie Mae Shue Medlin of the home.  Sons,  Paul Medlin of Sanford and  Jerome Mason of Wilson, NC and Herman Musslewhite Jr of Sanford.  Daughters, Rose Barger and husband Jamie and Sandra McFarland and husband Phillip all of Sanford.   Siblings Delores Medlin of Durham, Peggy Taylor of Augusta, GA, Janice Wainscott of Kernersville, Tina Norris and husband Billy of Broadway , Gary Medlin, Brenda Arnold, Connie Coats and husband Dorman and Loren Medlin all of Sanford.  Brother in law,  Paul Wainscott, ten grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
