Joan Vaughan Moore, age 73 of 10329 McDougald Road Broadway, died Saturday (12/17/2011) at her home. She was born on June 25, 1938, daughter of the late Arthur Edward Vaughan Sr. and Katherine Toomey Vaughan. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Walter E. Vaughan and Arthur E. Vaughan Jr. Joan and her husband were the owners of K and M Grocery for twenty six years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday at the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are her husband of fifty one years James L. Moore of the home; Daughters Karen M. Marosites and husband Bret of Sanford, NC and Cindy M. Godwin and husband Buddy of Sanford, NC; Sons Jimmy S. Moore of Broadway, NC and Timmy E. Moore of Sanford, NC; Grandchildren Holly Marosites, Benjamin Marosites, Brittany Godwin, Bradley Godwin, Olivia Moore and Carson Moore. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o Margaret Harrington, Treasurer, 1148 McArthur Road Broadway, NC 27505.
