Joe Conner Davis, age 84 of Cameron, died Friday (8/12/2016) at the North Carolina Veterans Nursing Home in Fayetteville. He was born on July 14, 1932, son of the late Ephraim Leafrain Davis and Eula Brackeen Davis Timmons. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00pm Monday at the New Covenant Community Church with Rev. Douglas Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his daughters Connie Stephenson of Pine Bluff, NC and Amanda Childers (Jeff) of Sanford, NC; Sons Raymond Davis (Kathy) of Cameron, NC and Danny Davis of Sanford, NC; Sisters Elizabeth Horn of Monee, Ill., Inez Noe of Myrtle, Miss. , Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the New Covenant Community Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations are made to the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
