John Edward Myers, age 78 of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday, (12/27/2022) at his home.  He was born on September 22, 1944, son of the late George Leonard Myers and Elizabeth Agnes Brower Myers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Dennis Myers and Tracy Myers.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday (1/1/2023) at 3:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00pm.   Surviving is his daughter, Vickie Knopps (Mike Smith ) of Gulf, NC.  Sisters, Georgiana Roberts of Sanford, NC, Donna Golden of Texas, Sandy Yates of Kentucky and Shirley Caulder of Sanford, NC.  Brother, George Myers Jr. of Texas, grandchildren, Christopher Knopps, Jamie Smith, Katey Bell Smith,  several nieces, one nephew and one great-nephew.    Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
