Johnny Albert Howard, age 63 of Sanford, died Sunday (2/1/2015) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Lee County, son of the late John Howard and Roberta Tutor Howard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Howard. He was a tobacco farmer and owner of Howard Farms. He was a friend to all, never met a stranger and was a happy person who always had a smile on his face. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Wednesday at Baptist Chapel Church with Rev. Alex Smith and Rev. George Stallings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is his fiancée of 48 years, Sherry Womack of the home; Sister Ann Howard Carlyle and husband Carlton of Southern Pines, NC; Niece Tara Morgan, Nephew Bradley Carlyle and two great nieces. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
