Joseph Michael Angello, age 51 of Sanford, died Sunday (2/19/2012) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, was a diver with the Lake Erie Project and was a master gardner and floral sculptor for Longwood Gardens. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiaiting. Surviving are his mother, Judith Angello and Michael Cunningham of Sanford, NC; Sons Joseph Phillip Angello serving with the United States Army 82nd Airborne in Kandahar, Afghanistan and wife Sarah of Dunn, NC and Bryce Eric Angello, serving with U.S. Navy and wife Felicia of San Diego, CA; Sisters Gina Marie Guzsaly and husband Stephen of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and Sandi Louise DiStefano and husband Louis of Pinehurst, NC; Grandchildren Michael, Daniel and Sam and was awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter Cali. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway. Arrangments are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
