Joseph S. "Joe" Bregman, age 55 of Pinnacle, passed peacefully into his Saviors loving arms on Monday (4/23/2018) at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Joe was the owner and operator of Bregman Pleasure Horses in Pinnacle, NC. He was born in Washington, DC, son of the late Robert Bregman and Adele Virginia Clark Bregman. After graduating high school from the Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland, Joe worked as a pasteurizer with Giant Food Inc. In 1986 Joe moved to North Carolina to pursue his dream of becoming a professional horse trainer. He trained multiple world and national championship horses. He shared his love of horses and competition with his daughter and loved watching his son play baseball at the high school and collegiate level. Joe was stricken at the young age of 38 with pulmonary sarcoidosis. He transitioned his business to Bregman's Trail Riding and continued sharing his love of horses with others including some with disabilities. He enjoyed following the Carolina Panthers. He loved the Lord and shared his faith with a servant's heart. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain where he served on the Deacon Board. He had a meaningful place in his community and loved his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday (4/29/2018) at 2:30pm at the Pilot Mountain First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Dixon and Rev. Gene Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Hoyt.   Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Dena Barnes Bregman. Daughter Corinne Adele Bregman of Boone, NC and son Corbin Leamon Bregman of Pinnacle, NC. Brothers Richard Hoyt of Colorado and Bobby Hoyt of Illinois. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:30pm -2:30pm Sunday in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain prior to the funeral service.   In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the NSBA Trainers Crisis Fund at nsba.com, First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain, PO Box 818, Pilot Mount, NC 27041 or to a charity of one's choice.
