Joseph Arnold Ouellette, age 78 of Sanford, passed away on Sunday (11/12/2023) at his home. He was born on September 7, 1945, son of the late Adelard Ouellette and Julienne Gendreau Ouellette. He was preceded in death by his parents and was retired from the United States Army after more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, and carpentry. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Friday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Burial with military honors will follow in Lee Memory Gardens. Surviving is his wife, Nancy Knight Ouellette of the home. Daughter, Natalie Anderson of Sanford, NC. Son, Alfred L. Stone Jr. (Sandra) of Oak Island, NC. Sister, Malvia Landry, Letha Thurlow, and Jean Clifford (Ken) all of Maine. Brothers, Rodrick Ouellette of Connecticut, David Ouellette and Kent Ouellette of Maine. Nephew, Tracy A. Shaw (Jackie) of Greenville, NC and Grandchildren, Johnny Stone, Rickey Stone, Samantha Stone, Chris Anderson, Michael Anderson, Susan Anderson and seven great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 2:00pm Friday at Smith Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
