Joseph Clay "Samson" Hunter, age 63 of Sanford, died Monday (02/01/2016) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Lee County, son of the late William Royce Hunter and Jessie Copeland Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers W. Randy Hunter and Barney Ross Hunter; and Sisters Donna Lee Hunter and Gaye Hunter Watson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Friday morning at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Surviving are his brothers Johnny Tyler Hunter and Denny Lane Hunter both of Sanford, NC.
