Joseph Ricky St. Denis, age 69 of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday (6/28/2022) at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.  He was born in Ormstown, Canada, son of Betty Lou Cavers St. Denis and the late Joseph Ernest St. Denis.  He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, Robin St. Denis, and his brother- in- law Ross Johnson.  Joseph was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in Vietnam.  He was a registered nurse and had a long career as a psychiatric and traveling nurse.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved gardening, horticulture, and bee keeping.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and was a Godly man who loved the Lord.  He shared his excitement to finally meet Jesus and become his master gardener/beekeeper at the gates of heaven. Celebration of life services will be held by the family.  Surviving is his mother, Betty Lou St. Denis of Wesley Chapel, FL.  His wife, Gretchen Ann Bongort St. Denis of the home.  Daughters, Raegan St. Denis Ladenburger (Derek) and their children, Alahna, Beckham, Charlee and Denver of Camp Verde, Arizona, and Aleah Salsman (Brian) and their children, Amaya, Elijah and Remi of Georgetown, KY.  Sisters, Patricia St. Denis Forman (Timothy) of Wesley Chapel, FL, Joanne St. Denis Johnson of Cadyville, NY, sister-in-law, Sandy St. Denis of Sunapee, NH, six nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
