Julian Willard Thomas, age 80 of Sanford, died Friday (7/27/2018) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Lee County, son of the late Paul Judson Thomas and Maude Elliott Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Elliott Thomas and Paul Thomas Jr., Sister Patricia Ann Thomas and his wife Wanda Kimball Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Tuesday at Baptist Chapel Church with Rev. Alex Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Juniper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving are his daughters, Mary Jo Maples of Sanford, NC and Carla Marie Thompson of Raleigh, NC. Sons, Michael Lee Thomas of Cary, NC and Tracy Neal Thomas of Sanford, NC. Grandchildren April Donithan, Katharina Thomas, Krystyna Thomas, JP Thomas, Andrew McNeill, Adam Maples, Autumn Maples, Caleb Thompson , Lillie Thompson and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
