Kathryn Elizabeth Garrett, age 71 of Sanford, passed away on Saturday (03/11/2023) surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 12, 1951, daughter of the late Rev. James B. Garrett Sr. and Lucy Elizabeth Bennett Garrett.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James B. Garrett Jr.  Kathy was a retired registered nurse for many years and was a member of Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Broadway Lions Club and the Moore County Choral Society.  She was a volunteer at the Temple Theater and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, doing whatever they wanted to do including going bowling and to the zoo.   She loved working on the family farm and watching the animals and the birds.  Surviving are her daughters, Torri Smallwood (Charles) of Oak Hill, West Virginia, and Katelyn James (Patrick Kelly) of Sanford, NC.  Brothers, David Garrett (Ali Watts) of Winston Salem, NC, and Bob Garrett (Bobbi) of Broadway, NC.  Grandchildren, Markus DeLung (Berkley),Brooke Treadway (Joey), Jackson Stalnaker, Kaleb Stalnaker,  Asher Kelly.   Great-grandchildren, Malachi Treadway, Braxton Treadway, Zoey Treadway , and  Noah DeLung.  A celebration of life service will be held on Friday (3/17/2023) at 2:00pm at Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.  To honor Kathy's memory, memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society, local food banks or to Mt.
