Lacey Renee Barfels, died Friday (1/10/2014) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She was the infant daughter of Matthew Allen Barfels and Christina Browning Barfels. A private family graveside service will be held on Friday at the Broadway Town Cemetery with Rev. Alvin Browning officiating. Surviving are her parents Matthew Allen Barfield and Christina Browning Barfels of the home; Sisters Leanna Lee Atkins and Lindsay Jalynne Atkins; Brothers Landon Patrick Sweeney and Daniel Allen Barfels; Maternal grandparents Debra and Alvin Browning of Lillington, NC and Paternal grandparents Tracey and Peter Penette of Cape Coral, Florida. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
