Lacy McFarland, age 70 of Sanford, died Friday (3/22/2019) at home surrounded by his family.   He was born in Lee County, son of the late Benjamin McFarland and Mary Holder McFarland.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joann Ben and Margaret McFarland Mckenney and his son David Witt McFarland.  Lacy was retired from Proctor Silex and Moen.  Funeral services will be held on at 2:00 pm Tuesday (3/26/2019) at Solid Rock Community Church with Pastor Mike Oldham officiating.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.  Surviving is his daughter Pam Peele and husband Freddie of Pittsboro, NC.  Son Delmar Witt of Sanford, NC and Jimmy Witt and wife Leslie of Broadway, NC.  Sisters Betty McFarland of Wilmington, NC and Faye Parrish and husband Roy of Cary, NC.  Brothers Richard McFarland and wife Debbie of Sanford, NC and Larry McFarland and wife Vergie of High Falls, NC.  Grandchildren Brandie Oldham, Brianna Witt, Ally Witt, Macie Witt and Matt Peele.    Great grandchildren Jason Oldham, Chase Oldham, Carson Oldham and Weston Thomas.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 1-2pm Tuesday at Solid Rock Community Church and other times at the home of Jimmy and Leslie Witt.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made toward funeral expenses.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
