Landon Clifford McNeill Jr., age 71 of Greensboro, passed away Sunday (7/20/2014) at his home. He was born in Lee County on August 28, 1942, son of the late Landon Clifford McNeill Sr, and Etta Inez Coleman McNeill. He was a graduate of Benhaven High School. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday at Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston and Rev. Preston Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Betsy Lynn Matthews McNeill of the home; Three daughters Michelle Wheeler Ferguson of Thomasville, NC, Dana Lynn McNeill of Greensboro, NC, and Tracy McNeill Lowe (Mark) of Greensboro, NC; Son Clifford Odell Wheeler (Meloney) of Sanford, NC; Three sisters Jeanette Carlyle of Youngsville, NC, Nancy Wilson (Larry) of Mamers, NC and Debbie Cox (Tony) of Broadway, NC; Brother Don McNeill (Connie) of Durham, NC; Grandchildren Sarah Ferguson, Garret Wheeler, Kailey Lowery and Landon J. McDowell. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of his son and daughter in law Mr. and Mrs. Clifford O. Wheeler, 751 Sherriff Watson Road, Sanford. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
