Larry Lee Bowles, age 62 of Olivia, died Saturday (8/29/2015) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was born in Franklin, VA, son of Virginia Campbell Langston and the late Bobby Lee Bowles. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother Timothy Peter Bowles and his son David B. Bowles. He as a Veteran of the United States Army, was a member of the VFW and the DAV. He was the retired owner of Bowles Welding and Fabrication. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday at Crossroads Church in Broadway with Rev. Charlie Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. Surviving are his mother Virginia Campbell Langston and step-father Jackie Langston of Olivia, NC; Wife Sharon Ratliff Bowles of the home; Son Larry Lee Bowles Jr. and wife Angel of Olivia, NC; Daughter in law Brandy Bowles Morrison and husband James of Olivia, NC; Sisters Cindy B. Jones of Wilkesboro, NC and Belinda B. Hobson of Olivia, NC; Brothers Bobby Lee Bowles Jr. and wife Melissa of Greenfield, Mass and Michael Wayne Bowles of Olivia, NC; Sister in laws Paulinda Harvey of Macclenney, FL and Lillian Masterson of the home; and seven grandchildren, Katelynn Bowles, Hanna Bowles, Jessica Bowles, David Broughton Bowles, Brooke Morrison, Emma Bowles and Wyatt Bowles. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
