Larry Don Ray, age 66 of Moncure, passed away on Sunday (3/15/2020) at his home.  He was born in Selmer, TN, son of the late Zollie "Bud" Elbridge Ray and Maxine Stanfield Ray.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda Ray and brother Zollie "Buddy" Ray.  Larry retired from Performance Fibers.  He loved the outdoors, his wife Jeanie Ray and their sons Adam and Shawn.  He was a hard-working man who made sure his sons grew up in a better life than he did.  Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.  Surviving are his sons, Adam Shane Ray of Moncure, NC and Shawn Jeremy Ray of Moncure, NC.  Sisters Tina Ray Breeland, Rebecca Ann Stanton, Rachel Ray Hickman, Virginia Ray Moore, many loving nieces and nephews and their beloved dog ChiChi.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
