Larry Sheard Wilson Jr., age 67 of Broadway, died Thursday (10/01/2015) at his home. He was born in Lee County, son of the late Sherwood Wilson and Doris Knight Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alberta Wilson, Daughter Susie Wilson Delguidice and granddaughter Jessica Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00pm Sunday evening at the Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Garland Smith and Rev. Rhonda Wilson officiating. A private family burial will follow at a later date in the Sloan Family Cemetery. Surviving are his daughters Patricia Dowd (Honorio Torres) of Broadway, NC and Belinda Merritt (Joe Merritt) of Cameron, NC; Step-sons Antonio Torres and Joseph Brown both of Broadway, NC; Sisters Betty Wilson (Jimmy) of Mamers, NC and Dorothy "Sissy" Bradford (George) of Olivia, NC; Brothers David "Peanut" Wilson and Harold Wilson both of Broadway, NC; Thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm Sunday afternoon at the Smith Funeral Home and other times at the family home, 2036 Garland Sloan Lane.
