Libby T.  Boggs, age 89 of Sanford, died Saturday (1/22/2022) at her home. She was born in Lee County on August 14, 1932, daughter of the late John Berryman Thomas Sr. and Melva Cox Thomas.     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 68 years, Billy Banks Boggs, son, Billy Banks Boggs Jr., sister Treva Thomas, and brothers, Walter Thomas and John B. Thomas Jr.  Libby was a graduate of Broadway High School and retired from Central Carolina Community College after 32 years of service.  Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm Wednesday (1/26/2022) at Juniper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. J. Scott Finicum officiating.  Surviving is her daughter, Marilyn Hunter and husband R. Merrill Hunter, MD of Raleigh, NC; son, Carl W. Boggs and wife Bonnie of Sanford, NC.  Brother, Clyde Thomas of Sanford, NC. Grandchildren, Cameron Boggs, DMV, Casey Boggs (Kylei), Katie Cecil (Sean), Christopher Hunter, MD (Janel, MD), Matthew Hunter (Laura) and Anna Underwood (Cody) and great-grandchildren, Wilhelmina (Minnie), Hugo, James, Thomas, Alice, Adalyn, Joni, Amelia, and Olivia.   Sister-in-laws, Sylvia Thomas and Marilyn Thomas.  Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00pm- 5:00 pm and on Wednesday from 9am-12pm to sign the register and pay their respects.  In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, the family request masks for the services.
