Linda Pinion Holland, age 66, of New Hill, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on March 13, 2025. A devoted homemaker, Linda lived a life rooted in love, family, and a deep sense of home. She filled her kitchen with the aroma of homemade southern dishes like country ham biscuits, strawberry cobblers & chocolate pies.

Linda was a woman of simple joys and unwavering devotion. A beloved wife, mama, grannie & nana, she cherished her family above all else, bringing happiness and warmth to their lives. Her love for a cup of coffee was as strong as her spirit. She was the best grannie - known for cruising on the golf cart with her grandson & ensuring a chocolate pie was always in the fridge. While she didn't always love her own cooking and often wanted "something different", she knew a homemade meal would always bring the family together at the dinner table.  She was incredibly selfless, always placing the needs of those she loved above any desire of her own.  If you asked her what she wanted to eat, her first response was always "what are you in the mood for?".

You wouldn't find anyone more hardworking than Linda Holland.  While the term "homemaker" may bring about visions of aprons and kitchens, being a "homemaker" for her included regular mowing of 10+ acres, chopping and picking a 2-acre garden, working the green end of the sawmill, and so much more.  She made home what it was and did anything that was needed for her family.

She was incredibly bright, having graduated high school a year early, and had tremendous artistic talent. From creating the best handmade Halloween costumes to crafting her own Christmas decorations, her attention to detail was impeccable. She enjoyed ushering in each new season with vibrant colors in her flower arrangements around the porch.

Her greatest joy came from ensuring others were happy, fed, cared for, and had what they needed.  There was no gift in the world you could give her that would mean any more to her than knowing that you were happy and that you had what exactly what you needed.  Her devotion to her loved ones was unparalleled.

Linda leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 46 years, Charles Holland, her son Peyton Holland (Kara), stepson Andy Holland (Cindy), grandchildren Emmett & Sawyer Holland, Brittany Johnson (Tyler), and Cathy Pica (Daniel), and six great grandchildren, Isaiah, Levi, Taylor and Hadley Johnson, and Miles and Cameron Pica, and brother, Montie George Pinion.  She was a light to her family, her community, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Lee Pinion, Father, Offie Roswell Pinion, Sister Ellen Pinion Carr, and Brother, Barney Lee Pinion.  Her legacy will live on in the hearts she touched and the love she so freely gave.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 15th from 1:00pm – 1:50pm in the sanctuary of New Elam Christian Church, 3290 Pea Ridge Rd., New Hill, NC 27562, followed by a celebration of her life at 2:00pm with Rev. Ed Earp officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
