Obituary

Lonzie Lee "Bill" Dezern, age 86 of Asheboro, died Friday (3/4/2016) at Woodland Hills in Asheboro. He was born on October 29, 1929, son of the late Jeremiah Edgar Dezern and Pearlie Mae Kirkman Dezern. Mr. Dezern was an Army Veteran of seven years during the end of World War II and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife Shirley Ann Hurst Dezern. He leaves behind his son Tracey Lee Dezern of Asheboro, God Children James Leslie Hurst of Virginia and Krista Atkins of Asheboro; many nieces and nephews and extended family members whom he loved. He retired from Energizer after 25 years of service and Wright Grading after 30 years of service. Services will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday (3/12/2016) at the Randolph Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Aaron Powers officiating. Family and friends are welcome to stop by the home anytime and friends and relatives will be received for visitation at the home following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Honor Guard of Randolph County or to the American Cancer Society.
