Lorraine Johnson Buffkin, age 94 died Thursday (8/11/2016) at Parkview Retirement Center, Sanford, NC. She was born Jan.29,1922 to Matt R. Johnson and Anna Mae Woodall Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George Fowler Buffkin. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday at the Salem Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tyler Williams and the Rev. Gary G. Buffkin Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are her daughters; Kaye B. Driskell (Ron) of Canton, GA. Carolyn B. Sykes late husband (Emory F. Sykes) of Douglasville, GA. Son Gary G. Buffkin (Delores) of Broadway,NC. Sister; Lou Simmons of Florida. Three Grandchildren, Clifton Hanson, Charlotte Harmon, and Miranda Saumier, Ten Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren. She was a member of the Sandpiper Square Dance Club, member of the Lee County Extension Club for over fifty years. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Salem Presbyterian Church.
