Lou McCormick Hinkle, age 86, of Sanford, died Wednesday (1/18/2012) at her home. She was born on August 19, 1925, daughter of the late James Neal McCormick and Marybelle Morris McCormick. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Elizabeth M. Bell, John M. McCormick,Robert McCormick, Archie McCormick, Lila M. Jurney and Mary Belle McCormick Chandler. She was a member of the Barbecue Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Benhaven EMS and was retired from Civil Service at Fort Bragg. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm Sunday afternoon at the Barbecue Perbyterian Church Fellowship Hall with services following at 3pm at the Barbecue Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sandy Williams officiaiting. A private family burial will follow in the Hinkle-McCormick Cemetery. Surviving are her husband of 59 years Paul G. Hinkle Sr. of the home; Daughter Donna Hinkle McCoy and husband Michael of Sanford,NC; Sons Paul G. Hinkle Jr. of Sanford, NC and John M. Hinkle and wife Lisa of Sanford, NC; Sisters Grissella M. Jones of Broadway, NC and Lois M. Roseman and husband Edwin of Sanford, NC; Grandchildren Ryan Hinkle, Zachary Hinkle, Cody Hinkle, Kendell Hinkle and Kaitlyn Hinkle. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Community Home Care and Hospice, 1836 Doctors Drive Sanford, NC 27330. Arrangments are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
