Ludie Carter Harding, age 91 of Sanford, died Monday (1/13/2014) at Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. She was born in Paulding County, Georgia, daughter of the late Cauris P. Carter and Ella Mae Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Harding, son Gene Calvin Carroll and sister Nellie Millholland. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Friday at the Spring Dale Baptist Church in Rockmart, Georgia with Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating. Burial following in the church cemetery. Surviving are her daughter Mary Harding Sharp of Sanford, NC; Sisters Audie Barber, Maudie Elders and Claudie Harding all of Rockmart, GA; Brother Wilbert Carter of Lythia Springs, GA; Grandchildren Calvin Carroll, Scarlett Carroll, Jeffery Scott Carroll, Billy Joe Carroll, Franky James Sharp, Jennifer Stacey Sharp McBryde and Rita Hardy. Great-grandchildren Joe Carroll, Stephanie Carroll, Ashley Carroll, Tiffany Carroll, Kayle McBryde, Kara McBryde, Khayman Sharp and Kadan Sharp. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and then she will be taken to the Alvin Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Rockmart, GA for visitation Thursday evening from 7- 9 pm.
