Magdaline Martin Spivey, age 68 of Sanford, died Wednesday (4/9/2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  She was born in Stokes County, daughter of the late Oliver Martin and Pansy Etta Logan Martin.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Horace Spivey, Son Alan Spivey and granddaughter Mandy Spivey.  Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00am at  Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating.  Surviving are her daughter Catherine Gilmore and husband Roger of Olivia, NC; Son Tim Spivey of Sanford, NC; Grandchildren Kristerfer Maddox, Shannon Lee Maddox, Christole Dawn Maddox, Michael Scott Maddox, Jennifer Kay Spivey and Jessica Ann Spivey and four great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 370 Broadway, NC 27505.  Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
