Margaret Wagner Burnette, age 84 of Sanford, passed away on Sunday (5/15/2022) at her home.  She was born in Guilford County, on June 5, 1937, daughter of the late C.G. Wagner and Okie Morgan Wagner.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son, William Daniel Burnette Jr., grandson William Daniel Burnette III; brothers, C.G. Wagner Jr. and Curtis Wagner and sister Louise Wagner Walden.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Wednesday at Center Church Cemetery in Sanford with Evangelist Timothy Burton officiating.  Surviving is her husband of 64 years, William Daniel Burnette Sr. of the home.  Daughter, Katie Burnette Raines and husband George of Cameron, NC.  Son, Elbert Charles Burnette and wife Louise of Cameron, NC.  Sister, Sinda Conrad of Canton, NC.  Brothers, Lawrence Wagner and wife Oka of Florissent, MO and Ray Wagner and wife Rita of Lexington, NC.  Grandchildren, Anita Sherman Burton, George Raines Jr., Dianna Burnette, Charles Brandon Burnette, Steven Cody Burnette, Jonathan Scott Burnette, fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
