Margaret Ellen Gaster Green, age 101 of Sanford, died Wednesday (2/17/2016) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late John Wesley Scott Winfield Gaster and Lula McNeill Gaster. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Major Harry Brown Green and her siblings Helton Gaster, Tina Gaster Kelly, Irene Gaster Thomas, Bessie Gaster Harrington, Curtis Gaster, Ernest Gaster, Vera Gaster Thomas, Thelma Gaster Cooke, Laura Gaster Buchanan Cox, Leon, Gaster, and Clara Gaster Buchanan. She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church and was a retired Nurse Anesthetist Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday at the Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike McVey officiating. Burial will follow at 11:00am Monday morning at the Wilmington National Cemetery. Surviving are her nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
