Margaret Kelly Messer, age 74 of Broadway, died Tuesday (3/29/2016). She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Garland Franklin Kelly and Bettie Robenia Marshburn Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Garland Lewis Kelly and her husband Richard R. Messer. She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday at 2:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Scott Yow officiating. Surviving is her daughter Wanda Whitfield Borge of Broadway, NC; Son Chris Whitfield and wife Denise of Broadway, NC; Brother Johnny Kelly and wife Ruth of Broadway, NC; Grandchildren Melissa Riley, Justin Whitfield and great grandson Aydan Riley. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the memorial service on Friday, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home.
