Margie Campbell Thomas, age 90 of Broadway, died Saturday (6/14/2014) at her home. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Shelby Leonidus Campbell and Lola Mae Matthews Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mae Byrd, Maude Carlyle, Rachel Coone; Brother John Campbell; Her husband Jessie Franklin Thomas and her son Sherwood Franklin Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Tuesday at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is her daughters Gail Thomas Smith and husband Ken of Piedmont, SC and Cathy Thomas Hobbs and husband Emery of Bunnlevel, NC; Son Gerald Thomas and wife Julie of Sanford, NC; Sister Elizabeth Deal of Sanford, NC; and daughter in law Mary Jo Hargrove and husband Wayne of Broadway, NC; Grandchildren Ritch Smith, Heather Owens, Denise Causey, Amy Wright, Jeff Thomas, Susan James, Karen Hobbs and Allison Willey; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Monday evening at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Multi purpose building. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations are made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Suite 200 Bethesda.
