Marian Gohagan Smithwick, age 77 of Sanford, died Wednesday (3/18/2015) at her home. She was born on March 5, 1938, daughter of Henry Eli Johnson and Marsha Elizabeth McDonald Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Lindward Gohagan. She was retired from Caterpillar. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday at the Divers Pond Cemetery in Ulmer, SC with Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. Surviving are her husband Robert G. Smithwick of the home; Son Steve Gohagan of Sanford, NC; Daughters Debra Gohagan and husband Bruce Anderson of Mankota, Minnesota, Janet Mullins and husband Homer of Sanford, NC, Mary Beth Gohagan of Sanford, NC and Donna Lloyd and husband Tom of Sanford, NC; Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and on Saturday night from 6-8pm at the Keith Smith Funeral Service in Allendale, SC.
