Martha Ann Seagroves Farrell, age 89 of Apex, passed away on Monday (3/27/2023) with her family by her side. She was born in Randolph County, daughter of the late Edward Onco Seagroves and Thelma Ree Matthews Seagroves. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Robert Farrell Sr. Martha Ann was a cheerleader, played basketball and was the first female bus driver at Apex High School. Her senior superlative was "Wherever there is noise and fun, I'll be there." She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Apex Baptist Church for many years. She taught all classes from k-12 th grade and was also a children's leader with Bible Study Fellowship. She loved spending time at the ball fields watching her son and grandchildren playing sports. She worked for many years at GE and CP&L. One of her favorite things to do was going to Dallas in Apex. She was a faithful member of the Dallas Darlings and Martha Ann always enjoyed good food and fellowship there with friends. Surviving are her children, Candance Ree Farrell of Raleigh, NC and William Robert Farrell Jr. of Apex, NC. Sisters, Lawana Evans of Virginia Beach, VA and Brenda McGuire of Asheville, NC. Brother, Edward O Seagroves Jr. (Jan) of Fuquay Varina, NC and grandchildren, Payton Alexander Farrell, Chandler Reese Farrell, and Sarah Jordan Justice. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm Thursday at the Gathering Place at Apex Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held in the sanctuary at Apex Baptist Church at 3:00pm with Rev. Peter Dubbleman and Rev. Bruce Worley officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Apex Baptist Church Senior Ministry or to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Group and the Bayada Care Givers for the love and care given to our mom.
