Mary McKay Ritter, age 66 of 223 Knollwood Lane Broadway, died Thursday (12/15/201) at Wake Forrest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on August 29, 1945, daughter of the late Rev. Samuel McKay and Martha Caldwell McKay. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne Braxton Ritter and brother Samuel LeRoy McKay II. She was the Choir Director and was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Memorial services will be conducted at 3pm Sunday at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Shields officiating. Surviving are her daughters Katherine Ritter of Orlando, Florida and Sarah Ritter Ramirez and husband Misael of Lexington,NC; Brother William Ransom McKay and wife Carol of Broadway, NC; Grandchildren Neida Ramirez and Nicolas Ramirez. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Saturday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 1333 Carthage Street Sanford, NC 27330. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
