Mathew James Thomas, age 32 of Sanford, died Sunday (12/12/2021) at his home.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, M.G. Thomas.  Funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Thursday at Faith Baptist Church in Sanford with Rev. Willie Bryant and Rev. Wayne O'Quinn officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Broadway.  Surviving is his mother, Wendy Elizabeth Thomas of Sanford, NC.  Maternal grandmother, Faye Richardson and husband Gene of Sanford, NC.  Daughter, Ellie Marie Thomas, her mother, Heather Woodson and his step-daughter Emmy Rose Woodson of Asheville, NC.  Brother, Andrew Goins of Sanford, NC, Uncle, Greg Thomas and his son Marshall Thomas of Panama City Beach, Florida.  The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Faith Baptist Church.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
