Michael Ray Brewer, age 66 of Broadway, passed away on Tuesday (11/11/2025) at Duke Raleigh Hospital.  He was born in Roncerverte, West Virginia, on September 11, 1959, son of the late Carolyn Sue Brewer Lemons.  He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, Dale Edward Lemons and his son, Michael Dale Brewer.  Prior to his retirement, Michael worked for many years as a business owner, mechanic and in industrial maintenance. Mike enjoyed exploring his faith, fishing, watching movies, racing cars and riding his motorcycle with the music turned up. He spent many nights cooking out on the grill with family and friends and joking about drinking beer and chasing wild women. He was a life long country boy that found comfort in nature. He was a dedicated father that instilled in his children a sense of rugged individualism and unwavering work ethic. He was extremely proud of all of his children and grandchildren and often shared stories about them with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Suzanna Bryant (Steve) of Virginia, Carolina Balliew (Jake) of Montana, Elizabeth Dennison (Jace) of Texas, Elena Vu of North Carolina and Joesph Brewer of North Carolina; his special companion and best friend, Lorraine Whitaker of the home; daughter-in-law, Thieka Brewer of South Carolina; his eight grandchildren; his brother William "Billy" Lemons (Rhonda) and sister Tina Lemons.  To honor his memory, a celebration of life service will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway on Saturday, December 6, 2025, with friends and family receiving friends from 1-2pm and the celebration of life service to follow at 2pm and a private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Michael's memory to The HealthWell Foundation at healthwellfoundation.org   On line condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com
