Michael R. "Mickey" Johnson, age 69 of Sanford, died Monday (2/11/2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Lee County, son of the late Rubin Johnson and Effie Bell Sykes Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Judy Johnson. He was a 1963 graduate of Deep River High School and was the owner of Sanford Electric Company. Graveside memorial service will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday at the Zion Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Surviving are his wife, Dianne Baker Johnson of the home; Daughters April Moody of Goldston, NC and Suzanne Denise Price and husband Jeremiah of Goldston, NC; Sister Paige Lyons and husband Roger of Sanford, NC; Sons Brian Johnson of Sanford, NC and Keith Johnson of Raleigh, NC; Nieces and nephews, Gay McDonald and husband Tommie, Caroline Hinzman and husband Jeff, Roger Lyons Jr. and wife Sarah, Jessica Hinzman, Ginny Hinzman and Bryson Lyons. The family will receive friends at the family home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Zion Christian Church, 23 Zion Church Road Sanford, NC 27330.  Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
