Michael Lonnie Thomas, age 49 of Sanford, died Tuesday (2/14/2012) at Central carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born on February 22, 1962, son of Lonnie M. and Betty T. Thomas. He worked for many years with the operation of the family farm, Broadway Produce and poultry houses. Memorial services will be conducted at 2pm Friday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Surviving are his parents Lonnie M. and Betty T. Thomas of Sanford, NC; Sister Gracie Thomas Freeman and husband Howie of Sanford, NC and one nephew William Freeman. The family will receive friends at the famiy home, 954 Dixie Farm Road in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 370 Broadway, NC 27505 for funeral expenses. Arrangments are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
