Mildred Hobson Buchanan, age 83 of Sanford, died Wednesday (8/29/2012) at Lee County Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Yadkin County, daughter of the late Dewey Hobson and Vergie Hennings Hobson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Buchanan, son Dennis Lee Buchanan, Sister Ruth Hobson Wells and brother David Hobson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Chruch Cemetery. Surviving is her daughter Debra B. Coore and husband Donnie of Sanford, NC; Sister Lois Patterson of Sanford, NC; Grandchildren Melissa Douglas and MIchelle Coore and great-grandson Harley S. Douglas. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the family home, 29 Cozy Hollow Drive Sanford. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
