Myrtle Phillips Jones, age 83 of Moncure, died Sunday (4/25/2021) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.  She was born on December 18, 1937, daughter of the late Henry Fletcher Phillips and Lora Belle Smith Phillips.  She retired from UNC Hospitals after many years of service.  Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bruce Sexton Jones, daughter Terry Jones Poythress, and siblings, Carl Ferman Phillips, Fletcher Phillips, Alta Williams, Lora Williams and Bonnie Van Gorder.  Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday (4/27/2021) at 11:00am at New Elam Christian Church Cemetery with Rev.
