Nancy Carol Spivey Edgar, age 77 of Sanford, passed away on Thursday (5/15/2025) at Westfield Nursing and Rehab in Sanford.  She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Richard Carl Spivey and Margaret Helms Spivey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Janice Faircloth and her husband, Phillip Gerald Edgar.  Nancy enjoyed doing puzzles and gardening in her yard.  She liked to do crafts and spent many hours in her yard on the swing.  Surviving is her daughter, Pamela Shaw and husband Michael of Sanford, NC; son, Phillip Edgar and wife Jennifer of Lexington, NC; sister, Judy Williams of Sanford, NC; grandsons, Michael Richard Shaw and Brandon Michael Shaw and great-grandchildren, Khris Shaw, Logan Shaw, Cheyene Shaw, and Sophia Shaw.  The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Monday (5/19/2025) at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Broadway Town Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com  Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home, Broadway Inc.
