Nancy Anne Underwood Hall, age 89 of Sanford, passed away Monday (6/20/2022) at her home. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late James Redding Underwood and Floy Harrington Underwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert Hall and brothers, J.R. Underwood, Charles Underwood and Waylon Underwood. Funeral service will be conducted at 11am Friday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Surviving is her loving son, Barry Hall of Sanford, NC. Daughter-in-love, Vonnie Hall of Sanford, NC. Beloved sister, Shirley Hall of Sanford, NC. Grandchildren which were her pride and joy, Wendy Thomas, Paula Holler and husband Chris, Tonya Varner, Kelci Kindle and husband Adam, ten great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Treasured nieces, nephews and numerous other children she cared for over the years. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Nancy knew she had a brilliant mind, a servant's heart, made the best food, was a die-hard Duke fan, did her best to make everyone feel welcome and loved her family more than anything in the world.
