Nancy Thomas Johnson, 83, of Sanford passed away Monday, June 1, 2026. Born on November 27th, 1942 to the late AC "Bud" and Mary Cameron Thomas, Nancy was a proud Class of 1961 Benhaven School graduate. She was married to her late husband, Larry Gene Johnson for 63 years before he passed last September. Nancy had the heart of a servant. Whether it was baking a cake for the Harvest Sale, taking care of her children and then grandchildren, making sure everyone was fed with fresh vegetables from the garden, or caring for her mother, she always put others before herself. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Russ) Hughes of Sanford, NC;  son, Paul (Amy) Johnson of Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Brittany (Kenny) Pope of Broadway, Logan (Caitlyn) Hughes of Clayton and Abby Johnson of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Pope, Charleston Pope, Carter Hughes and Levi Hughes; sisters, Brenda Sanders of Cary and  Kathy (Gary) Cole of Sanford; brothers, Art Thomas of Cary and  David (Susan) Thomas of Broadway; brother-in- law, Andrew "Pat"  McNeill;  and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Thomas McNeill. A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 7th at 3pm at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Seymour and Rev.
