Norman Ray Simmons Jr., age 66 of Sanford, died Friday (12/28/2018) at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. He was born on June 28, 1952, son of the late Norman Ray Simmons Sr. and Lottie Brown Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Eric Simmons. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Monday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving is his sister Leslie Simmons Brunson of Liberty, SC and Brothers Leif Ray Simmons, Woodley Dale "Woody" Simmons and Robert Dewey Simmons all of Norfolk, Va. The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Monday, prior to the funeral service at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
