Norman Lewis Sloan, age 90 of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday (3/20/2024) at his home.  He was born on December 26, 1933, son of the late James Wade Sloan and Willie Inez Womack Sloan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jesse Warren Sloan, and Harold Sloan.  Norman was a graduate of Broadway High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He was a general contractor for many years and was the owner of Norman L. Sloan Construction Company.  He was an avid hunter and especially loved bird hunting with his dogs, fishing, and gardening.  Surviving are his daughter, Tonya Sloan Rudd and husband Collins; Son, Troy Lewis Sloan; Sisters Elba Mae Sloan Hall and husband Henry, Edna Earl Sloan Carter and husband Billy Joe, and Aubrae Gray Sloan Patterson.    Brother, Clifford Sloan; Grandchildren, Sloan Brooke Patterson, Erica Blain Baker, Harly Michelle Sloan, Lacy Lynn Sloan, Sawyer Lewis Sloan and five great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday (3/23/2024) at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com   Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
