Oris Owen Williams, age 90 of Broadway, died Sunday (9/7/2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Wake County, son of the late Walter Williams and Ardell Carpenter Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Wednesday at the Calvary Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Norris and Rev. Donnie Cash officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is his wife of 61 years Sylvia Rigsbee Williams of the home; Daughter Wanda Whitley (John) of Zebulon, NC, Lois Gordon (John) of Broadway, NC and Peggy Meyers (Tabby) of Sanford, NC; Sons Willie Williams (Susie) of Sanford, NC, John Williams (Tammy) of Sanford, NC, Wesley Williams (Judy) of Broadway, NC and Wayne Williams (Wendy) of Broadway, NC; Sisters Lucille Ridenhour of Dunn, NC, Iola Gardner of Wake Forrest, NC and Hazel Daniels of Garner, NC; Brothers Dennis Williams of Durham, NC, S.P. Williams of Durham, NC, Albert Williams of Wake Forrest, NC and Walter Williams Jr. of Durham, NC; Eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Tuesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
