Paula Thomas Brandt, age 47 of Gasburg, VA, formerly of Sanford, died Thursday (9/4/2014) at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Lee County, daughter of Carolyn Mason Thomas and the late Larry Thomas. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents Irene Thomas and Henry and Annie Mason. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 pm Saturday at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church Gasburg, VA with Rev. Greg Hand officiating. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 5:00 pm at the Baptist Chapel Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Hand and Rev. John Hackney officiating. Surviving are her mother Carolyn Mason Thomas of Sanford, NC; Husband Scott Brandt of the home; Sister Sylvia Mason Johnson and husband Donald of Lillington, NC; Brother Randy Thomas of Sanford, NC and nieces Bridgette Wangelin and Ashley Holder. The family will receive friends from 3-4:30 pm on Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway, prior to the graveside services. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
